season 9 Pokémon Go Starts December 1st and runs until March 1st. The event, called Mythical Wishes, will feature three different events throughout the season.
During this time, trainers need to choose a reward from three different timed research tasks, which will be in addition to the existing event rewards. Trainers can pick from XP, Incubator, or Stardust.
The first Raid Pokemon of the season are Virizion and Mega Abomasnow. Both will be on hold until December 8th.
This season’s Research Breakthrough encounter will offer the chance to catch a Galarian Mr. Mime, Delibird, Bagon, Deino, Furfrou, or Goomy. Everything else could be shiny except Goomy.
During the season, previously undiscovered XXS and XXL sized Pokemon may appear. More information on this will come later, we imagine.
This season will also see different Pokémon appear in multiple biomes around the world. If you’re lucky, you’ll encounter Shiny Snowy Form Castform and Shiny Sunny Form Castform for the first time.
Easter eggs for this season will include the following Pokémon:
- 2 km eggs – Smoochum, Azurill, Budew, Mantyke, Bergmite and more.
- 5km eggs – Chingling, Snover, Rowlet, Litten, Popplio, Mareanie and more.
- 10 km eggs – Tirtouga, Archen, Noibat, Rockruff, Togedemaru, Jangmo-o, etc.
- Adventure Sync Rewards: 5 km of Eggs – Shinx, Cranidos, Shieldon and Happiny.
- Adventure Sync Rewards: 10 km Eggs – Bagon, Beldum, Gible, Deino, Goomy, Rockruff, etc.
During the season, rewards include increased damage for Pokemon participating in raids remotely, those above level 31 will be guaranteed 1 XL candy per trade, and all trainers will get an extra candy per trade, which you can unlock each day 40 gifts, you can send 125 gifts per day.
Over the first weekend of December, you can look forward to Hoenn Mega Raid Day on Saturday, December 3rd, when the Mega Evolutions of Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert will make their debuts. Mega Sceptile, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Swampert Energy will be available again ahead of Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn, so be sure to grab this opportunity.
A Sceptile caught in this event will know Charged Attack Frenzy Plant, and a Blaziken caught in this event will know Charged Attack Blast Burn. Swamplings captured during this event will know the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.
During the event, you can earn up to five additional free Raid Passes by spinning the Gym Photo Disc, and your chances of encountering the Shiny Sceptile, Shiny Blaziken, and Shiny Swampert will also increase.
Event exclusive tickets are priced at USD 5 or the equivalent pricing tier in local currency. This ticket will include the following rewards from 2pm-5pm local time: 6 additional Raid Passes from the Spinning Gym (total of 12 per day), an increased chance of getting a Rare Candy XL, a 50% increase in XP from Raid Battles, and 2 × Stardust from Raids.
Other events are also coming soon. On Saturday, December 17, you can look forward to the return of all Community Day Pokémon in 2022 and 2021. The event will run until Sunday, December 18th.
Additional events will be held on December 10-11 and December 24-25.
Ninantic has also announced the dates for the Season 9 Community Days: Saturday 7 January, Saturday 21 January (Classic Community Day), and Sunday 5 February.
