When we talk about cosplay, characters from videogames, manganime, series or conventional movies always come to mind. That is, The Godfather is as "cosplayeable" as Luffy from One Piece. But everyone has something in common. Most cosplays are made of humanoid characters, whether human, alien or any other creature of the style. So Pokémon are almost always out of this list. Instead, the artists adapt their cosplays inspired by the franchise to evoke these creatures with enough ingenuity. An example of this is this Sirfetch’d cosplay, whose look is based on this Pokémon and integrates its main features as accessories.
However, it is possible to make a realistic Pokémon cosplay as demonstrated by a huge Groudon cosplay. This same artist has been trying to put Pokémon in the right place with cosplays for years. Obviously that does not detract from everything that has been done so far, but it is incredible the work of this cosplayer to recreate Pokémon like Blastoise or Haunter. The first one who made this style was Blastoise and as you can see under these lines, it is so realistic that it could go through an official Pokémon costume. It is even seen that he plays with textures, so Haunter designed it as if it were a giant stuffed animal.
Only by looking at the size of the cosplays we can imagine the work of clothing that each one carries. But the result could not be better. Of course, the cosplay that will leave you with your mouth open is this Mewtwo with lights to give a light effect in addition to giving movement to your facial expressions
