Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket officially introduces the next new features that will be available in January 2025. An essential functionality that is currently unavailable is finally available.
With the release of the Pokémon trading card game Pocket, the Pokémon madness has begun again. Within a week, the success of this free game was confirmed with more than 30 million players. Most importantly, $14 million was generated in four days. Even though the title was free, users did not hesitate to spend money on the beautiful eyes of these much-loved creatures.
Serious things are about to begin for Pokemon Pocket
The pocket-sized Pokémon Trading Card Game is indeed a hit, but now the challenge will be to stand the test of time. And for that you have to have short, medium and long term plans, which seems to be the case. Searching through the game files, dataminers discovered that a new A1a booster is scheduled for December 16, 2024, while the new A2 booster expansion will wait until January 29, 2025.
These important new features of Pokemon Pocket have been partially confirmed by the development teams. If the press release published on X does not give an exact date, it promises new boosters/expansion packs very soon. « First, we plan to add new boosters by the end of the year » explains the message. But this post is above all an opportunity to confirm a highly anticipated feature in the coming weeks: the possibility of card swapping. This absence may seem surprising, but it is a reality. It is currently not possible to trade Pokémon TCG. This functionality expected by players is thus confirmed, but… it will initially be limited.
« Additionally, we plan to add features for trading specific cards starting in January 2025. We plan to expand the selection of cards that can be traded » displays the Pokemon Pocket team. Presumably one of these two new features will be available via a “major update” without further details, but details will be announced soon. Finally, Pokemon TCG Pocket also announces that more things are on the way. « In addition to the exchange functionality shown here, other features are in development ».
