Ultimate Games strikes again: After the publisher was able to celebrate a relatively great success with the Thief Simulator, the Poles soon want to call you to higher tasks: Im Pope simulator you become the head of the church and should be able to "realistically" relive the life of a pope.
more on the subject
In I Am Jesus Christ you compete against the devil
The Pope plays like a magician
According to his Steam page, the game starts on the day of the conclave, on which the player is elected pope by the other cardinals. After you have chosen your personal coat of arms, which is said to have unknown influences on your reign, you can begin to influence the world.
Since the Pope has no military or economic power, you should use the so-called »Soft influence system«Intervene in international politics and assert the interests of the Vatican. For example, you can stand up for world peace, alleviate conflicts and even overthrow tyrannical dictators.
Obviously, the Pope works much like a classic magician: He has a skill tree, through which he learns new skills in the course of the game, which are driven by his mana or faith supply, which he can replenish with a prayer at the end of the day.
Even more absurd games of faith
If the Pope Simulator seems familiar to you: At the end of 2019 we reported on the Jesus Simulator I Am Jesus Christ from Publisher PlayWay, in which you become the son of God, works miracles and fights the devil.
Pope Simulator does not come directly from PlayWay, but the publisher Ultimate Games states on its website that PlayWay has been a valuable investor since 2016.
In addition to the Pope and Jesus simulators, the two publishers are working on other strange games of faith: in the Priest Simulator you play a drunken priest who performs exorcisms and holds the service drunk and in Noah's Ark you catch animals and build the legendary Noah's ark.
So far none of these games has been released, and there is no specific release period for the Pope Simulator either. Most recently, the publisher was able to celebrate a surprise success with the drug dealer simulator.
