those who crave something new Web portals Adventurers might be interested in Portal Revolution, a massive new mod filled with new puzzles and original voice acting.
We probably won’t be getting another Portal game from Valve anytime soon, but thanks to the series’ modding community, you can essentially play a brand new game right now. Since it’s a mod, it’s also completely free! Portal Revolution takes place after the events of Portal and Portal 2, casting you as a new, unnamed test subject who is tasked with taking on the role of a personality named Sterling. mission to restore Aperture to its “former glory.”
It’s a mod for Portal 2, which means it has all of the sequel’s mechanics, such as paint that makes surfaces smooth or elastic. According to the game’s Steam description, “The campaign features 40 all-new puzzles, utilizing new test elements and presenting existing mechanics in new ways not seen in Portal 2.” New elements include things like laser cube variants and Gel cleansing fields and the like, but how they work, you’ll have to find out for yourself!
There’s also a note on the game’s difficulty, sharing “Portal: Revolution’s puzzle difficulty picks up where Portal 2 left off, but have no fear. All new mechanics and advanced Portal tricks will be taught to you. We put them through rigorous play testing Ensure every player can solve While there are few chambers that require launching a portal in mid-air, there are no puzzles that require advanced and tricky moves.” By the sounds of it, if you haven’t played Portal 2 in a while , then you may want to play Portal 2 again just to be on the safe side.
As mentioned, there’s voice acting, which is always fun for a mod, and with roughly five to seven hours of gameplay “depending on your experience with Portal 2’s mechanics,” it’s nothing to scoff at either of.
