The wait is finally over: Call of Duty Warzone will be released on March 10th. Here we explain when you can start the download and plunge into battle royale mode.
No preload possible
Warzone cannot be preloaded. The Warzone update goes online with the servers. So you can theoretically get started at the specified launch times. How long you have to wait depends only on your internet line.
Buyers start earlier
For those who already own the main game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Warzone starts at 4 p.m. German time. At this time, CoD: Warzone is being added as an update to the game and you can play right away.

Battle Pass & Shop
Warzone's progression system is linked to the main game. Earned XP, progress in Battle Pass and operator skins apply across the board. For example, if you earn a uniform in regular multiplayer, you can also use it in Warzone (and vice versa). Cosmetic items bought in the store also apply to Warzone and Modern Warfare.
What is in Warzone mode?
Up to 150 players compete in Warzone on a huge map to fight for survival. Even before the release, lots of new gameplay, information and a trailer for the Free2Play-CoD were opened.
All information about loot, squads, weapons and crossplay can be found in our great overview of Call of Duty: Warzone. The trailer provides a foretaste:

We want to reveal a special innovation in the Battle Royale genre at this point: Whoever dies is far from out, but has to prove himself in an arena fight in the Gulag. The winner of the 1vs1 duel gets a second chance via respawn.
