The year 2024 starts off terribly rainy, so it’s better to stay indoors and play a good game – there are some cheap options for this via Amazon Prime. Like every month, anyone who subscribes to the service will receive some new games for free in January 2024 activate once and then you can keep it forever, even after your Prime subscription expires.
There are also new candidates in Amazon’s streaming service Luna, so enough preliminary banter: let’s go through the games.

Endling: Touching trailer shows how a fox defies the end times
Untrained eyes might describe Endling: Extinction is Forever as an atmospheric side-scrolling adventure, but of course we know better: Endling is a so-called Elena game, because it brings together everything that our author Elena Schulz loves in a game: a wonderful one melancholic but heartwarming atmosphere, a sharp criticism of the dark sides of our modern society – and foxes!
Because as the last remaining fox mother, you have to accompany your charges through a world destroyed by humans, strengthening and protecting them while you move through varied and impressive environments. Endling not only looks timelessly good, the game is also applauded from all sides on Steam: over 95 percent of all user reviews are positive.

But Endling is just one of several games being given away in January 2024. Here is the complete overview:
- From January 4, 2024: In Endling: Extinction is Forever you, as a female fox, save your offspring from destructive humans. The key is for the Amazon Games app.
- From January 11, 2024: Apico satisfies the need of billions of people to finally try out a beekeeping simulation. Key also for the Amazon Games app.
- From January 18, 2024: Atari Mania, a pretty wild mix of over 150 Atari mini-games from the distant past, including Pong variants. By the way, we only recently tested Pong, just a few decades too late:
- From January 25, 2024: Yars: Recharged is a new edition of the Atari shooter from 1981 including co-op.
New on Amazon Luna in January 2024
Amazon’s streaming offering is also expanding for those who don’t have access to internet at home. You can now find these five new games in the range:
- Control – Ultimate Edition: One of the best story shooters of recent years and in a way a prequel to the 2023 masterpiece Alan Wake 2.
- Kitaria Fables: A colorful fantasy mix of fighting, magic and everyday farming. For fans of cozy games.
- Wonder Boy: The Dragon Trap is a beautiful remake of a platforming classic.
- In Young Souls Equip yourself in the real world, pump up your muscles and then plunge into all sorts of fantasy dungeons. Cool genre mix of beat ’em up and role-playing game.
