Prime Video is finally updating itself, opting for an almost complete overhaul. It was definitely time for a facelift, especially when we see what the competition has to offer.
The range of SVOD services is now extensive. Max, Disney+Netflix, Prime Video, Outstanding+, AppleTV… We’re not going to make the whole list, but it’s getting harder and harder to navigate, so when making the selection we tend to opt for the best exclusives. It’s true that films and series play a big role in choosing their preferred SVOD platform. But something else comes into play: ergonomics.

What’s more frustrating than having a platform full of content but not being able to navigate it? Having a pile of commercial suggestions next to the programs suggested by the algorithm. What could be more annoying than seeing that it is sometimes impossible to find these programs or that after months of use we realize that certain films are there even though we have never seen them in the feed? This hell has a name: it’s called Prime Video.
Yes, Amazon’s SVOD platform is one of the most popular and has millions of users. Yes, there are very, very big movies and must-see series like The Rings of Power, The young or Stand out. But the fact is that browsing Prime Video is an absolute disaster. Amazon’s SVOD platform has never stood out for its ergonomics until today. That’s it, finally! The application is updated!
This update is being gradually deployed on the different supports and is completely disrupting the general ergonomics. Everything is being reviewed. The placement of our programs, the shortcuts, the accessibility of the search… We are, in general, very similar to the offer of Netflix and Max, two models in this field.
It was about time that Prime Video got a makeover, especially when we add nearly 80 new movies like we did this month of July. But as the saying goes, better late than never!
