We have been waiting for a new Prince of Persia for ten years now, because the last offshoot of the series was actually The Forgotten Time of 2010. Now there have been rumors that the Persian prince could soon make a comeback. Before that happens, we have to take a look back at the past: Because we have all overlooked a Prince of Persia.
Because there has been a video with leaked on Youtube for eight years Gameplay footage from a set Prince of Persia with the subtitle »Redemption«. You can watch the three-minute video above these lines for yourself.
In the gameplay scenes, we see the Prince of Persia with unusually short hair performing his usual fluid combat maneuvers. With fast rolls, saber blows and also a few time-stop attacks, he fights his way through a city that has just been hit by one gigantic, multi-headed and tentacle-swinging monster is attacked.
Ultimately, it became Assassin's Creed 3
Former Ubisoft developer Jonathan Cooper has confirmed via Twitter that the scenes from Prince of Persia Redemption show a planned but never released part of the series. Ultimately, the gameplay would have been as Inspiration for Assassin's Creed 3 served.
Wow – haven't seen this in ages. Amazing work from animation director Khai Nguyen (For Honor) and team. This target game footage (pre-rendered game pitch) inspired our own pitch for Assassin's Creed 3 as they did such a great job making it look like real gameplay. https://t.co/U9cy7v4fNp

It remains unclear why the video was discovered just eight years after it was uploaded on March 1, 2012. Already in 2018, the Assistant Technical Director of Ubisoft Montreal, Marc-André Belleau commented a short one under the video: "Where did you get that from ?!"
