At the beginning of the year, Ubisoft wants to cause a sensation with a new Prince of Persia – and the game has now taken a decisive development step on the way there.
With Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, the series wants to return to its 2D roots from retro days – garnished with a healthy dose of Metroidvania. We will probably be able to see for ourselves whether this plan will succeed in January as planned, because nothing should now stand in the way of a punctual publication.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has now taken an important development step! The Ubisoft title, which was first presented at Ubisoft’s 2023 Summer Game Fest Showcase, has achieved gold status. The development work on the 2D action platformer has officially been completed, which means that a punctual release is almost certainly guaranteed.
The game from Ubisoft Montpellier will therefore be available from January 18, 2024 and marks one of the first games from a well-known franchise in the coming new year. The corresponding announcement via Twitter was garnished with a 30-second sizzle trailer in which the protagonist Sargon can also be seen.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is scheduled to be released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
