So far, the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has not been off to a good start, but now the help of a new development team should help everything to change for the better.
Like some other prominent titles, the remake Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is plagued by difficulties. Development work has not progressed well, has not been satisfactory and, according to a report, has led to the remake essentially having to start from scratch. At least: The remake of the classic is still planned – even if we will probably have to wait longer for it.
Ubisoft itself has now spoken out in a new social media post and announced that a new team will help with development. So is everything now turning out for the better?
Accordingly, Ubisoft Toronto will now play a key role in the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. The team will contribute “its creativity, expertise and current technology” and thus support the existing team at Ubisoft Montreal.
This is probably very good news for fans of Prince of Persia, because as mentioned, things haven’t really moved forward so far. The title was announced years ago, and after several setbacks, the original development teams from Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai were replaced by Ubisoft Montreal in 2022. This is another reason why the game’s release is probably still a few years away.
However, there are some concerns in the Ubisoft universe: fans are worried that Ubisoft Toronto could divert their focus from the remake of Splinter Cell by adding new tasks in the context of Prince of Persia. It remains to be seen whether these concerns are justified.
