Big news for those who want to join specific Next year’s game and the whole world doesn’t know. Private games are now available in Steam’s beta client today, and you can set your games as private when you purchase them, so you can keep them all to yourself.
When the game is set to private, you will not receive trading cards while online, nor will your in-game activity be visible to your Steam friends. No one can see it in your library except you! The only way you could be exposed is if your account has Family Sharing enabled – don’t let your dad catch you playing the shagger emulator.

While the feature is currently only available in a beta client, it will eventually be available as a live service. There’s no roadmap or public timeline for this transition—Valve tends to only port things when they’re ready—so you’ll have to stay vigilant until you’re able to hide your Starfield gaming sessions from your mates. However, it marks a major milestone that could set off a wave of dirty buying. I’m not kidding at all here!
If you have NSFW games enabled on the Steam store, you know that they are not only plentiful, but also extremely popular! They’re consistently the most popular games on Steam all year long, and have a surprising number of players. Now imagine that you could buy an NSFW dating sim without your friends seeing it… My professional opinion is that the developers behind this genre are rubbing their hands in excitement, waiting for private games to come out .
For me, I can’t wait to use this feature to hide Prominance Poker from the people around me who love me. Famous Poker, YuGIOh, and obscure fighting games that their abilities are too weak to understand. Shout out to “Born by Night”.
What would you hide from your friends and family? Tell us below…or don’t tell us. I think that would ruin it.
