The new HBO series based on the franchise The Last of Us is one of the most anticipated by fans of the video game. If we remember, previously the project was going to be a movie, but it was changed to a series because the story is too long and impressive to produce in film adaptation. Now the producer Craig Mazin has revealed information very important about this delivery that answers the doubt of many followers.
Although this new series will be based primarily on the first video game from The Last of Us, it will not begin production until the second video game is released, which is scheduled for May 29, 2020. Mazin has shared the news through the most recent episode of his podcast called Scriptnotes, thus confirming that full production will begin approximately in April.

The producer has not commented on why they are waiting for The Last of Us Part II to be releasedIt is possible that it is with the intention of seeing how the public reacts with this new title, and perhaps to be able to come up with the next story in case they come to confirm a second season in the future.
