Schnick, Schnack, Schnuck instead of FIFA 20: At an official qualification tournament for the FUT 20 Champions Cup, i.e. the World Cup in FIFA 20, two opponents now had to decide a match with scissors, rock, paperbecause they just couldn't connect in the game.
Apparently there were numerous connection problems with the EA servers during the qualification phase of the e-sports tournament. That is why the two FIFA professionals Shaun "Brandsha" Galea from Malta and Hasan "Hasoo19" Eker from Germany decided that they should not play their match with a game of FIFA, but in a very modern way with a virtual round of bells and whistles break up.
After losing to this alternative duel, Brandsha expressed his anger via Twitter. In doing so, he affirmed that he was not concerned with losing. But it would be "pitiful" to lose in something else than in FIFA itself.
I cannot believe it !! @EASPORTSFIFA @EAFIFADirect We literally had to play a rock paper scissors becauce we couldn't find each other to invite in an EA LICENSED QUALIFIER. WTF !! ?? I am done

Trust me, I ain't complaining because I lost. We are playing FIFA and to win / lose other than FIFA is pathetic.

EA confirms Schnick-Schnack-Schnuck decision
The official Twitter channel of EA Sports FIFA Competitive Gaming already confirmed in an official statement that the rock-paper-scissors game actually happened.
However, neither of them would have been eliminated from the competition, because both Brandsha and Hasoo19 then competed in other tournament matches. In the end, however, both were eliminated from the tournament.

According to the official tournament rules of the FUT 20 Champions Cup, a double error when connecting to the servers should actually result in a defeat for both players. According to EA, this is to prevent connection problems from being exploited in order to gain advantages in the tournament, for example when two friends who are friends compete against each other and one of them deliberately loses.
A second case in the previous qualifying round also led Levy Frederique from Denmark to give up his game against British professional Tassal Rushan. The reason for this loss was that Frederique even after three hours of unsuccessful effort could not connect to the EA servers and his opponent.
So much on my mind but don't have the words to express my feelings. Servers down for a lot of players and yes I was one of those .. Got a def loss vs @FaZeTass who really dissapointed me trying to frame me from the start. I am done I work so hard for nothing once again.

The FIFA 20 esports scene also caused a stir recently when EA Sports blocked FIFA professional and streamer Kurt "Kurt0411" Fenech for all EA games and services due to toxic behavior.
