Platinum Games has unveiled the second game of its mysterious Platinum 4. This title follows the remaster of Wonderful 101.
Platinum Games has kept its word and unveiled the next secret game on the Platinum 4 website. There, the Japanese developer, who now wants to become a publisher, listed four titles as nameless stars that are now gradually illuminating. The first of these four games was the Kickstarter-funded remaster of the former Wii-U action game The Wonderful 101. As announced, the second title was revealed today … so to speak.
Project GG, the provisional name is directed by Hideki Kamiya and is said to be the end of his Giant Hero trilogy, which so far consists of Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101. "In Viewtiful Joe […] a guy turns into a hero, while in The Wonderful 101 a group turns into heroes. Project GG is supposed to be about giant heroes," explains Kamiya.
According to the Japanese magazine Famitsu, Project GG is supposed to be something that Platinum has never done before. The title should be available on all platforms. The company will distribute the project itself in accordance with its realignment and as a brand will own Platinum alone. Of course, it is supposed to be an action game, but the action should not become the dominant aspect of GG. Apparently the title is still in an early development phase. As Atsuhi Inaba, director of the studio mentions, a team is still being put together.
