Behind the scenes, the new Game of Thrones spin-off is taking shape
The return to Westeros promises to be epic in the new Game of Thrones spin-off titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge of Knight. Just like House of the Dragon, it will be a prequel set a century before the events of Game of Thrones.
Who are always well informed Hollywood Reporter tells us some additional details about the production of the spin-off. Journalist James Hibberd reports that the first season will count 6 episodes. Therefore, compared to the 10 of the first two series of the franchise, we have a smaller number.
We also now know who will be responsible for directing the first three episodes. That is’Owen Harris, who will also carry the role of executive producer. The man has been particularly notable in recent years for his contributions to the Netflix series Black Mirror, including the famous episode “San Junipero”. He also contributed to the reboot of The Fourth Dimension as well as Brave New World (NBC), the series based on the novel Brave New World.
So, surprisingly, the HBO teams chose someone more familiar with science fiction. Still, his work could achieve the excitement and suspense one would expect from a post-Game of Thrones work.
