Dave the diver
The wonderful world of independent video games is a truly fertile breeding ground for crazy concepts that other productions would never risk: Dave the Diver is a good example, who enjoys mixing genres and ideas… for a truly successful result. During the day we take on the role of Dave, a diver who must explore the Blue Hole to discover secrets but above all to catch fish: because yes, at night the game leaves us Dave’s sushi restaurant with a whole new aspect lead. Management, which is in stark contrast to the exploration mentioned above. You had to dare! Originally released in 2022, Dave the Diver will be diving into the PlayStation bathtub for the first time in April. The only downside is that at the time of writing this article we don’t have an exact date yet at the end of March. But get ready because it’s just a matter of few days.

Freedom Planet 2
Originally released on PC in 2022, Freedom Planet 2 will finally be available on home consoles and there’s a good argument for it: ENERGY. Here we are in a fast-paced action and 2D platformer, decidedly old-fashioned and really punchy, inspired by the great Sega classics: So the player embodies several characters with different abilities on a planet divided into several kingdoms with a whole enchanting delirium surrounding dragons. An original universe with a real plot and obviously explosive gameplay that has already caught the eye, as well as its careful artistic direction that will appeal even to oldies. It should be noted that it is a very good way to pass the time in anticipation and can only be played solo.

Grounded
Obsidian Entertainment is a talented studio to which we have several gems to thank – Fallout New Vegas, South Park: The Stick of Truth or The Outer Worlds, for example – and whose new releases obviously have to be closely monitored. For once, Grounded is not new since it was originally released in 2022, but on the other hand it is the first time that it appears on PlayStation: in fact, it is even quite historic since the studio belongs to the Xbox family and that this is the case Port results from Microsoft’s recent desire to offer its exclusives to competitors. In short, grounded, It’s a survival game in which you play as a child, unfortunately shrunk to the size of an ant: you can play it alone, but also in cooperative multiplayer mode and it’s a really cool and entertaining experience. Pretty close.

Megaton Musashi: Wired
Level-5 is undoubtedly one of the most famous studios in Japan: we owe them many cult games such as Professor Layton or Ni no Kuni, to name just a few. Usually they are RPG specialists, but here the developers are trying their luck… on a big, heavy action game based on mechas, no less! Megaton Musashi first appeared in Japan only in 2021, but this is a premium version for the whole world: we can therefore count on two very rich story modes (with some narration, don’t worry. Make no mistake), but also on an ultra-explosive multiplayer, cross-play and cross-save to support. Without that, The context takes place in a world where humanity is dominated by a massive alien race and whose last survivors face the monsters in gigantic, highly destructive robots that can be personalized in every way. If you like Japanese pop culture at its peak and Dantesque battles, this is for you.

Sandland
That was the big and terrible news of March: Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball and many other cult franchises, has left us and millions of fans are heartbroken. He leaves behind numerous creations, including Sand Land, a narrative manga published in 2000 the story of Beelzebub, prince of demons, and Thief, former sheriff, in their journey to replenish a completely desiccated world: after being adapted into an animated film in 2023, we will therefore be entitled to a new video game that is a really nice announcement is . Starblade
This South Korean action-adventure game was published by Sony, but was actually developed by independent studio Shift Up, founded by Blade & Soul illustrator Kim-Hyung Tae. It is said to be one of the most important releases for the month of April: Here we take on the role of Eve, a very tough heroine with sharp fighting skills who has to support Xion, the last human city on an Earth invaded by aliens. An excellent excuse to kill aliens, acquire multiple destructive abilities, explore the environment and offer frenetic gameplay and an atmosphere as dazzling as it is bloody. Ah, and Stellar Blade looks technically great too, a detail that’s always important.

Braid: Anniversary Edition
In 2008, Jonathan Blow made his name worldwide with Braid, one of the greatest gems in video game history: brilliant in its level design and way of playing with time, but also extremely clever in its narrative and themes. This is a software that has left its mark in everyone’s minds. Here it is back many years later with a definitive version (announced three years ago anyway!): 4K, a revised sound aspect, but also additional content with new puzzles that will melt your brain… all for fun, of course. In short, if you’ve never touched Braid before, this is the perfect opportunity to rectify your situation. And if you’ve already done it, no big deal, you can do it again, right?

Sea of Thieves
After Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush and Grounded, Microsoft is delivering another of its exclusive games to the competition: Sea of Thieves! This pirate game from the legendary Rare studio has had time to significantly improve and become denser after years of activity and follow-up. The result today is a colorful experience, super comprehensive, really fun and with content galore (and even some nice crossovers, like the one with Pirates of the Caribbean). Enough to pull the rug out from under Skull & Bones? This is entirely possible and that is why it appears to be a very important publication. Its success, along with that of other Xbox games ported to PlayStation and Switch, should also have a big impact on Microsoft’s strategy: all the more reason to pay attention.
