Graphics, storage and load time
A blogger compared the hardware of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. We will tell you which console he thinks has advantages in terms of graphics, load time and storage.
Blogger James Prendergast made a full comparison of the two upcoming consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X. He relied on PS5 technical data and previously released information about the Xbox Series X. The results show two areas where gaming consoles outperform.
Prendergast sees the Xbox Series X as a clear advantage in terms of graphics performance, but he believes that the PS5 "runs at least 1.2 times faster under most workloads." In terms of average GPU computing power, this reduces the advantage of the Xbox Series X over the PS5.

Prenderg ast further explained in his blog "The Hole in My Head" that the Xbox Series X CPU has 1.02 to 1.10 times the power of the PS5. However, there are hardly any significant differences in functionality.
PS5 and Xbox Series X: Comparison of RAM and SSD
For data storage, it seems worse for Microsoft. The blogger assumes that there are two possible scenarios for the Xbox Series X's RAM, but concludes that the Xbox Series X is at a disadvantage in one or the other way in memory-intensive games compared to the PS5. The main reason for this is the asymmetric configuration of the Xbox. This ensures reduced bandwidth when loading symmetrical parts. On the other hand, the PS5 uses 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM continuously. You can better manage your data.
There are also differences in input and output [I / O]. The PS5 is also superior to the Xbox Series X in this respect, especially thanks to the built-in SSD, which provides a significant charging advantage for the PS5. Sony console data management benefits from an optimized GPU. In general, one thing is clear from the blogger's statement: The coordination of the PS5 hardware between the various components is obviously better than the Xbox SeriesX.
Xbox Series X
Even if we break down Prendergast's explanation here for clarity, the key message is clear: The PS5 is a step ahead of the Xbox Series X in terms of hardware comparison. The Xbox Series X has a faster CPU, while the PS5 offers faster, more efficient memory, and scores under a variety of workload situations.
Keep in mind, however, that Prendergast refers only to technical details. However, since these contents may still be incomplete and may need to be adjusted, they are not considered until the time of release, only theory rather than practice, so the final conclusion can only be reached after the PS5 and Xbox Series X release.
Pros of PS5 and Xbox Series X
- Xbox Series X has 12 teraflops [10.3 teraflops on PS5]
- Xbox Series X CPU is about 1.02 to 1.10 times faster
- 16 GB continuous capacity, PS5-RAM works more efficiently
- PS5-SSD brings obvious charging advantages
- 1.2x faster PS5 in various working environments
In addition, the comparison does not include gaming, value for money, and gaming machine features. Therefore, don't think of it as a buying recommendation for one of the two consoles. You can find more information about these two consoles in our technical comparison of PS5 and Xbox Series X.
