This is how weapons, death and spoils work.
Developer Housemarque gave us more looks of the upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive product Return, This time focus on the battle of the game.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, creative director Harry Krueger wrote that players will be able to increase the variety of weapons picked up by the protagonist Selene using the weapon traits (Wapon Traits) during the game. These modify the game in various ways.
Each weapon also has a random alternating shooting mode, which means that the player can have an additional secondary option to knock down the enemy. Selene can only carry one weapon at a time, but the time when the arm falls is quite regular, so you can choose multiple weapons.
Death brings Selene back to the beginning of the time loop (that is, the first level), but an alien device called Cthonos will track your progress and will provide you with new items at different intervals.
At the same time, in addition to regular loot, Returnal also has items called Parasites, which may be positive or negative for Selene.
“With Returnal, we aim to incorporate a unique style of play,” Krueger wrote.
“It comb ines our eye-catching arcade action, responsive controls and bullet hell-like gameplay, this time all presented in a third-person perspective. When exploring the environment generated by the Atropos program, there will be fast and crazy battles and fierce battles. The gun battle, and there will be some rich exploration and traversal.
