Weird Snack Animal Hybrids Are Coming to an iOS Device Near You, Developer Young Horses Reveals Bugsnax Is Coming to iPhone and iPad July 12.
Those considering exploring Snaktooth Island on an iPhone or iPad will also have access to the previously released DLC The Isle of BIGsnax and will experience a new control scheme utilizing the touchscreen of an iOS device. Best of all, there’s no need to use a touchscreen if you don’t like it, as the mobile version of the game will also support “a wide range of third-party gamepads.” Whoa!
For those unfamiliar, what is there to expect from Bugsnax? Well, in this quirky title, you’ll visit fearless explorer Elizabeth Megafig. However, when you arrive on Snaketooth Isle, Elizabeth is nowhere to be seen and her camp is in total disarray.
So the creatures need to find out what happened to Elizabeth, unravel some mysteries, and find out the truth about Bugsnax: where did they come from, and more importantly, why do they taste so good? This reminds me of my recent deep dive into what exactly Oatchi is in Pikmin 4; I’m still clueless, really.
Bugsnax will let you use contraptions and bait to find all the different species of Bugsnax and reunite the inhabitants of the different biomes of Snaktooth Isle. You’ll also have plenty of challenges and side quests to overcome as you simultaneously unravel the mystery of where Elizabeth might be. Of course, you can stuff your face with Bugsnax while customizing your home and snack-sized friends.
In our review, we described Bugsnax as “a game ostensibly about brightly colored tuskarns eating sentient snacks, [that] In fact, it hides a dark secret similar to G.I. Ops: The Line. “If you need more convincing.
Bugsnax is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam. Now, though, players can pick it up on the go on an iPhone or iPad; will you be one of them? Let us know about your experience with Bugsnax.
