Gaming News PS5 VR already dead and buried? That is the opinion of this studio that refuses to port its video game to PSVR 2
No, the VR hit Rec Room will not appear on the PSVR 2 and the reason is quite simple: according to the developers, it would not be profitable.

Recently he was commercial director and co-founder of hobby room, Cameron Brown took part in a question and answer session on Reddit and invited gamers to ask him about this virtual reality gaming hit. As reported UploadVR
We currently have no plans to port (Rec Room) to PSVR 2. This is a significant port and we haven’t found a way to justify it financially. In an ideal world we (Rec Room) would like to integrate with PSVR 2, but we can’t justify the cost based on the numbers. I know it sucks, but it’s the truth.
Some time later, a representative from Rec Room confirmed the information again to UploadVR.
Cam is right. We are not currently working on porting Rec Room to PSVR 2. Will we do that later? Certainly, if it makes sense for the company. We have been working with Sony for years and have many successful partnerships. We’re always looking to expand the number of platforms Rec Room is available on and plan to increase that number this year.
A flop for Sony?
Rec Room is a real VR hit that, according to the studio, has almost 3 million active users every month. Currently the software is available on Meta Quest, Pico 4, SteamVR and the first PSVR, as well as on current generation consoles and iOS and Android phones in the classic version. PSVR 2, for its part, has struggled to really stand out since its release.
As a reminder, Sony’s latest virtual reality headset has sold around 600,000 units almost six weeks after its launch in February 2023 the official figures reported by Sony. The sales figures are anything but catastrophic, but given Cameron Brown’s statements, they are unlikely to have changed significantly. PSVR 2 is designed to stand out from its competitors and is therefore likely to have difficulty attracting gamers. Sold without a game for 599.99 dollars, PSVR 2 also has a catalog of exclusives that is ultimately unattractive despite the release of the supposed hit Horizon: Call of the Mountain.
