PlayStation 5 will be officially released in China before the second half of this year.
Sony China announced, PS5 The service will be provided in the country in the second quarter (March to June). The news was disclosed in the Chinese New Year greeting video.
As Niko Partners analyst pointed out Daniel Ahmad |Sony actually obtained hardware approval for the standard PS5 and digital version in December. Sony is currently working to obtain software approval.
Of course, PS5 can be purchased in China today. However, these are units imported from Japan and other regions and exist in the gray area. When PS5 is officially released in China, it will have its own PlayStation network, separate from the networks used elsewhere in the world.
In addition, only games approved by Chinese regulators can be sold, which is similar to Nintendo’s current game arrangement with Switch. That being said, it is already a faster launch compared to the PS5, which made its debut in the country about a year and a half after its global release.
