The fact that Quake got a re-release this year doesn’t mean that the work for the developers is done with it, because from today you can look forward to another addition.
In August, Machine Games and Bethesda released a new edition of Quake, in the form of a re-release for the PC and the newer consoles. This is far from over. With today’s Update 2, the game gets more content.
Update 2 for Quake also contains bug fixes and optimizations, but the most important thing is the new Horde mode, which you can experience completely free of charge. The Horde mode is intended for one to four players – missing staff is filled by bots. Waves of AI opponents await you on four brand new maps. With every third wave you also meet a boss opponent. He drops a silver key that brings you new weapons and items. After the ninth wave there is even a gold key.
Also in the update is a new add-on called Honey, in which you face off against a deadly plague. By the way, from today Quake is also available in the Epic Games Store and no longer only on Steam.
