A special kind of VPN for special needs
The best thing first: Radmin VPN offers a unique concept and is completely free. If, for example, you want to secure your work in your home office or revive the old LAN party feeling, you will find the necessary tool with this VPN. However, the fact that the service is only compatible with Windows and has rather opaque data protection is no longer up to date compared to other providers. In case you want to set up a private VPN, you can still take a look.
We liked that
- for free
- Creation of networks
- Remote access to connected devices
We didn’t like that
- no streaming possible
- opaque data protection
- only available for Windows

Conclusion
If you use classic VPN clients, your movements on the Internet are usually routed through servers in different countries. Radmin VPN, on the other hand, offers you a more modular approach. So the VPN already has a unique selling point.
The special feature: You can set up your own “Virtual Private Networks” (VPN) with Radmin VPN. This function stands out and is not offered by many other VPN services. This concept is particularly useful if you want to network your company or a team. But the program is also very suitable for private use, for example to start virtual LAN parties.
You can use the VPN service based in the British Virgin Islands on as many devices as you like. However, this only works under Windows. Radmin does offer AES-256 bit encryption and uses the “Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol” (SSTP), but there is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of security. More on this in the following paragraphs.
Simple operation
Radmin VPN offers you a minimalist user interface. A small window is displayed – that’s all you need. This keeps the service clear. You can activate the connection using a round button or switch it off again easily. Under “System” you can change your previously defined name, change the language and set the dark mode. In the advanced options you can activate automatic updates and the proxy server.
You can use the “Help” window to report problems or contact support directly or get in touch with the community. You can also join the Radmin Discord channel. The last and most important points in the window are the networks.
Create your own network
The main function of Radmin VPN is to create your own virtual private networks or join existing ones. It’s very simple. Create your own network and give it a name and password.

Unlike the VPN services we tested, you do not establish a secure connection between you and the Internet, but rather a secure connection between you and other users. You can imagine it as if you were in a room and were connected to other computers via a LAN cable and therefore on the same network.
The main advantage is that you can communicate directly with the connected computers. For example, you can also share files with the connected users via VPN.
Areas of application
This function is particularly suitable for companies and teams. It allows you to create a shared network regardless of your position. You can use this network to work as if you were in the office together. Your computers are directly connected to each other. This is a particularly practical feature in times of home office.
This feature is complemented by the Radmin Viewer software. Together with the VPN service, you automatically download this program for remote control and remote maintenance. In connection with a Radmin network, you can access connected computers from anywhere.
But gamers also enjoy the VPN service. Especially if you miss the old days of LAN parties. The Radmin community has already created numerous networks for specific games that you can easily join. To play, you need to have the game installed on your computer. The number of players in a network is not limited and the solid speed means there are no annoying stuttering.
Don’t want to play with a bunch of unknown users? Then set up your own network for you and your friends.
You have to do without this
As mentioned at the beginning, you have to do without classic VPN functions with Radmin. This includes, for example, bypassing country blocks when streaming. At this point, we can recommend ExpressVPN or CyberGhost as alternatives if you want to watch foreign content from streaming services.
Additionally, we would like to refer you to our detailed articles on the best VPNs for Netflix, the best VPNs for Amazon Prime Video and the best VPNs for Disney+.
You also cannot handle local internet disruptions with Radmin, as you do not have access to other servers. However, if you have connection problems, you can solve them without a VPN. For example, you can use our DSL speed test to check your internet connection. If there is a problem with the target page, you can get more information in the disruption reporters we manage.
speed
With our speed test we found the following values for Radmin. When establishing a connection we achieved an average ping of 21 ms (milliseconds). The download speed was approximately 62.09 Mbps and the upload speed was 12.45 Mbps.
The free VPN service therefore delivers solid speeds. However, the 100 Mbit/s stated on the homepage were not confirmed in our test.
Security
Radmin promises you security with standard AES-256 bit encryption. Although the homepage states that the company does not collect any of your data, a look at the privacy policy shows something different.
It says that information such as domain, IP address, browser type and operating system is collected for website trends and statistics. According to the company, this is only used for customer support, for example to contact you.

Safe on the Internet
Many VPN providers are currently offering spring deals. However, the high prices can change quickly. We present you the best deals.
Radmin VPN’s headquarters also raises questions about data security. The company is based in the British Virgin Islands. Data protection laws there are less strict than in North America and Western Europe.
Radmin VPN Pricing and Availability
Radmin VPN is available to use completely free of charge. There is no need to register or create an account. Simply download the program and install it. You can get started right away. The VPN service is available for Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7. However, this also means that you cannot use the service on your smartphone while on the go.
If you no longer want to use Radmin VPN, you do not need to cancel your subscription. Simply uninstalling the software is sufficient. If you are looking for an alternative, we recommend that you take a look at the cheap VPNs and our VPN bargains.
