Like clockwork: Ubisoft announces the new Operation Steel Wave for Rainbow Six: Siege, which is scheduled to start in June 2020. What exactly is inside is still in the dark. So far, the new operations have always brought two new operators, which you can also see in the short teaser on Twitter in the background:

Many question marks: It is not yet known which special unit the new operators in Rainbow Six: Siege belong to or which skills and weapons will lead them into the field.
The other content in Steel Wave remains open. In the past, the innovations differed from season to season. Sometimes players from R6: Siege got a new map, sometimes an existing one was revised.

What the hints in the teaser suggest
The teaser is short, but it shows some clues that indicate the scenario of a new map. Fans on Reddit are already speculating heavily about what to expect with the new Rainbow Six: Siege season.
The name Steel Wave, for example, could refer to a steel colossus floating on the waves: a ship? The elements in the video show either a collapsed building or a damaged ship.
- House or ship? Bent and torn steel beams and broken reinforced concrete elements stand out in the foreground. This indicates a building or a ship reinforced with concrete.
- Cold region? A slight particle effect in the video could also indicate snow or ice.
- Morse code: The tweet text contains a Morse code that means "SOS SOS SOS". Since buildings rarely send SOS emergency calls, a ship is an obvious new map.
Just so that no misunderstandings arise: These instructions are presumptions. We will only find out what is really in it with an official confirmation.

When does Year 5 Season 2 start?
The Seasons of Rainbow Six: Siege follow a fixed schedule. Four operations with a fixed release month appear per content year. After Operation Void Edge, the new Operation Steel Edge starts in June 2020.
But when will there be more information about the new operators and a possible map? A look at the previous behavior of Ubisoft regarding season reveals for R6 victories can be worthwhile:
- The first teaser for the current Operation Void Edge was released on February 10, 2020.
- The big reveal with details on new content came on February 15th.
- On February 18, Void Edge arrived on the test servers.
- After an extensive trial period, the season finally went live on March 10th.
If Ubisoft keeps the same timing at Steel Wave, we should expect a closer look at the new operation in Rainbow Six: Siege in the coming days.
