It’s not because Ubisoft is actively working on the development of Rainbow Six Extraction, which will be postponed to early 2022, that the publisher is forgetting to watch out for its big brother Rainbow Six Siege. In August, a new PvP event opens a game mode inspired by the next installment in the franchise.

Scheduled for a limited time, The Rainbow Six Siege Containment Event will last three weeks. This starts tomorrow and ends on August 24th.. To keep fans of the franchise patient, Ubisoft has decided to hold an event halfway between the two components from the Tom Clancy universe.

In the facts Containment introduces a brand new PvP game mode called Nest Destruction. Two teams collide in a revised version of the Consulate’s map that has been eaten away by the Chimera parasite: the REACT agents on one side, the Proteans on the other.

. While the REACT agents must destroy it to achieve the ultimate goal and hope to win the game, the Proteans themselves want to put an end to the mission and the advance of the attackers. Another solution for the victory of either team: Eliminate the opposing team as a whole, very easily.

To put a spanner in the works for the REACT agents, the Proteans, a kind of alternative, but equally dangerous version of the Archaeans, have the ability to mimic the physical appearance of enemies, but only have a range of movement limited to melee attacks.

Besides this game mode The event gives players the chance to get their hands on a collection of 33 unique customization items, from headgear and weapon skins to uniforms, and limited in time.

To mark the occasion, Rainbow Six Siege will be free to play from August 13th to 15th, a three-day period during which players will see their Valor Points doubled. Remember, the title will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S is available.
