On December 1st, 2021, Rainbow Six Siege celebrated 6 years of loyal service. Rainbow Six Extraction has since been added to the license, but leaving competitive FPS aside is out of the question. Ubisoft today reveals the outline of the 7th year of content!
80 million players and new operators on the horizon
Maps, operators, game modes, global improvements, cross-play and cross-progression are on the agenda of year 7 of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, which will debut with the soon first season called Demon Veil. New maps and new persistent modes
Interestingly, the studio announces that For the first time in three years, players will be entitled to three new maps spread across the first three seasons of the year. It remains the third map that is competitive but whose location is still unknown. Also note that a second mode will become permanent, namely Arcade mode upon selection. Season 1 is introduced “Improvements to detection of toxic behavior and player disconnects and Season 2 will penalize players who abuse friendly fire (…) and improve game cancellations.” In the same spirit, reporting options will be added to Replay during Season 3 along with reputation “results”. In season 4, a system of rewards and penalties set up to prevent recurrence.
Console gamers and newcomers are not forgotten
If you play Rainbow Six Siege on console, Ubisoft hasn’t forgotten you. During Year 7, the console version will receive several updates including Playback, aim control customization, a new button configuration option, and options related to field of view. At the same time, all players can participate in different events mixing arcade and classic events. Note, however, that since the title is online, Changes may be made to this roadmap throughout the year.
Eager to attract more and more players and give them a proper welcome, the game developers have announced that a shooting range will be introduced to allow newcomers to train and discover the ins and outs of operators. Furthermore, many instructional videos, dedicated to the characters, is provided. For the elders who know Zero, Bandit, Dokkaebi and Thatcher will be reworked during the year. Starting tomorrow and until March 21st, players will finally be able to buy the annual ticket for $30 or the Premium annual ticket for $60.
The first unlocks access to seasonal Battle Passes and 14-day early access to new Operators. The second includes all of this, adding exotic skins or even VIP credits. As so often buyers instantly unlocks 20 levels additional ones that allow faster access to rewards.
