“Rebel Moon” on Netflix: Prince Washboard Belly, the griffin rider! Will Tarak become the new king of the mother world?

“Rebel Moon: Part 1 – Child of Fire” has a decent pace, and in its two hours the Netflix film leaves no room for boredom. However, sometimes things move a little too quickly – a problem that only the long versions of the films will be able to solve.

Kora’s rebel team is put together quickly, but we learn very little about each new character – Titus wasn’t even given an action scene to show off his skills! Tarak fared better – sorry – PRINCE Tarak!

A rebel prince – why is that so important?

As we know, the Motherworld has been ruled by Balisarius since the assassination of the royal family – a reign of terror that the rebels will sooner or later put an end to. But what then?

As a potentially long franchise, “Rebel Moon” can of course introduce new characters in the future who can be considered kings or queens. But currently only Prince Tarak seems to be equipped for this task.

His homeworld was destroyed, so Tarak is by no means a rightful heir to the throne of the motherworld – but neither was Balisarius. However, ruling will certainly suit him more than Kora, Gunnar, Titus or Nemesis, so it just makes sense that not only Jimmy the robot but also Prince Tarak will end up wearing a crown.

We won’t find out whether it really happens until April 19, 2024 at the earliest, when “Rebel Moon: Part 2 – The Scar Maker” appears on Netflix and concludes the story of the two-parter.
