It was basically the simple beginning of a scenario proposed by Zack Snyder to Lucasfilm shortly after the release of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith in 2005, but rejected by George Lucas. Zack Snyder then offers his sci-fi film to Netflix, which accepts the project following the success of Army Of The Dead in 2021. Production therefore begins in the same year. Rebel Moon is scheduled for December 22, 2023.
