When Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on Steam in December, its digital sales increased significantly.
According to a report from SuperData, Red Dead Redemption 2 After its launch on Steam, digital sales have gained "substantial growth".
Digitally, the game ’s digital sales have more than doubled from 406K in November through the Epic Games Store and Rockstar Launcher when it was released on a PC, to 1 million when it was released on Steam in December. SuperData believes that the price increase is due to those who are waiting for an exclusive game purchase on EGS, and the launcher has been launched.
The December digital sales report also states that "Grand Theft Auto V" is the best month since December 2017. Due to discounts and the release of the Diamond Casino Heist content update, the game earned $ 84.7 million on consoles and PCs-which also increased spending on premium currencies.
Elsewhere in the report, SuperData noted that no season pass or map pack was available for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Compared with Black Ops 3's same-year release time, the revenue of Modern Warfare in the fourth quarter of 2019 increased by 4%.
In December 2019, when the ability to purchase in-game content was provided in Modern Warfare, customer spending reached $ 78.7 million.
From the chart in December, on the PC, the highest paid game of the month was "League of Legends". RDR2 ranked fifth, and Modern Warfare ranked seventh.
On the console, "Modern Warfare" is the highest box office game, followed by "FIFA 19", "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order", "Grand Theft Auto 5" and "NBA 2K20" in the top five.
Throughout December, digital game spending hit a record high, reaching $ 9.8 billion, up 8% year-on-year.
Mobile business revenue increased by 28%, offsetting the impact of console and PC revenue declines of 25% and 4%, respectively. The decline in digital game console spending was partly attributable to the year-on-year decline in "Fortnite Revenue" and also due to the decrease in the number of major premium games released at the end of 2019 compared to the holiday of next year.
