The developers behind the acclaimed GTA 5 VR mod created a similar experience for Red Dead Redemption 2.
The creator of the famous “Grand Theft Auto 5” VR module released last year, Luke Ross, once again Red Dead Redemption 2.
This module is now available for early access through Ross’ Patreon, which allows you to play the entire Red Dead Redemption 2 in a first-person or third-person perspective completely in VR. The uploadVR video above shows that Red Dead Redemption 2’s playing time is completely played in VR.
Currently, the only way to access the mod is to support Luke Ross through Patreon. There is only one level: for $10, you can use the current version of the Red Dead Redemption 2 mod, as well as all future updates to become a member.
Ross explained that it took him about six months to complete the job, and Patreon is the best way to support this job because he is now working full-time. In the future, modders hope to do the same with “Cyberpunk 2077”, “Horizon Zero Dawn” and “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.”
Because this is an early version of the mod, you may encounter some problems here and there. UploadVR records a large number of object cuts, and sometimes camera control has been taken away from the player.
