PC gamers must be starting to feel like they’re being taken for a ride. To date, Red Dead Redemption, released in 2010, is still reserved for them. In 2023, even the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch were given their own versions. So what’s holding Rockstar back so long?
We can’t say why Rockstar Games hasn’t yet released a PC version of Red Dead Redemption. But what we do know is that information has once again surfaced online that could indicate an imminent port. The source it comes from is interesting: fans found it in the PlayStation Store!

The shop recently updated the description of Red Dead Redemption, which included the following lines: “Red Dead Redemption includes all of the features of the console version upgrades released in 2023, including the full single-player experience of both games and bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition, plus PC-specific improvements such as support for increased resolutions and frame rates, multiple displays and other accessories, and spatial surround sound.”
By the way, both games are Red Dead Redemption and the standalone expansion Undead Nightmare. The text has since been removed from the site, but of course the rumors are rife and a certain wave of hype is also building up.
The date seems strangely fitting, however, because on August 17, 2023, Red Dead Redemption found its way onto the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Now, exactly one year later, a port to what is probably the most desired platform would certainly make sense. After all, even Red Dead Redemption 2 rode into the computer, so it can’t be that difficult. We’ll keep you updated, of course.
