At the beginning of May, Bethesda will release a first potential top hit with Redfall, not only on the PC but also on the Xbox Series X/S. A special control feature should also be used there.
The official Redfall product page on the Xbox Store reveals a very interesting detail in terms of controls for Bethesda’s potential hit. Accordingly, the vampire shooter will not only allow control via mouse and keyboard on the PC, but also on the Xbox Series X/S – of course in addition to the classic controller control.
Redfall will be only the second first-party game from Microsoft to make use of this feature. Previously, only the Definitive Edition of the real-time strategy epic Age of Empires II supported mouse and keyboard controls on the Xbox.
Since the upcoming vampire shooter will not have any PvP components, the developers can save themselves an otherwise inevitable discussion about the advantages of the various control formats. As is well known, this regularly leads to upsets in competitive games, because control with a mouse and keyboard is usually more precise than control with a controller, although the latter is often given auxiliary mechanisms.
Redfall is slated for release on May 2, 2023 exclusively for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The game will also be offered via Xbox Game Pass at no additional cost. Developer Arkane recently confirmed that the title requires a permanent internet connection even in single player mode. In addition, Redfall also uses the controversial Denuvo Anti-Tamper software to combat software piracy.
