From time to time, Sony throws a surprise by announcing part of the PS Plus program several days or even weeks in advance. Recently, the publisher confirmed one of the first games to be offered to all subscribers in February 2024: Foamstars. Square Enix’s Splatoon-like will jump into the deep end on February 6th. While the manufacturer waits to discover the other two productions that will join the party, it reveals the releases of the PS Plus Extra catalog for February 2024.
PS Plus Extra releases for February 2024
The cycle continues. Since the transformation of PlayStation Plus, a new routine has emerged. Like PS Now or Xbox Game Pass back in the day, the Extra formula welcomes a flood of new entries in the catalog every month. Arrivals that are immediately offset by a handful of departures. In January 2024, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers were able to say goodbye to It Takes Two or Devil May Cry 5 and can now discover titles like Resident Evil 2 Remake or Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, not to forget to mention just the headliners.
As is often the case, Sony reveals the next releases from the catalog in advance, giving players time to work through or try out the unfortunate releases before the fateful day. On February 20, 2024, PS Plus Extra will lose 10 games, from large licenses to small nuggets from the independent scene:
- Tacoma
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- Tekken 7
- Ace Combat 7: Heavens Unknown
- Oninaki
- Lost spear
- I’m Setsuna
- Thomas was alone

Great beginnings
Of course, among the PS Plus Extra releases for February 2024 we will note the departure of the excellent Resident Evil 7, an episode that brought the license in line with horror while taking it into the realm of the subjective point of view. A real success, just like Ace Combat 7 and, to stay with seven bingo, Tekken 7, which will be released shortly after the release of its successor, scheduled for January 26, 2024. There are also some big names in the independent scene, like Tacoma from the creators of Gone Home, Thomas Was Alone and its great narrative or even the JRPGs from Tokyo RPG Factory, a subsidiary of Square Enix.
