The big update for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, which is actually planned for the end of February, will now appear later, as Ubisoft announced in a blog post. It is a patch that should bring immersion mode and thus represent a kind of rescue update for the stricken tactical shooter.
New period for the release: Ubisoft roughly names spring 2020 as a new date. If everything goes according to plan, the immersion mode will appear together with episode 2 and the associated title update. The new Engineer class should also appear in spring at the same time.
Why was it postponed? For the comprehensive update, Ubisoft included the results of a community survey and the opinions of Delta Company, a community initiative of Ubisoft. During the development of the immersion mode, the adjustments have proven to be so comprehensive that the release date originally planned cannot be met.
Fans react irritably
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint players are largely dissatisfied with the move on social media. Has been playing since the beta and the release polyphonic criticism at play. We also rated Ghost Recon: Breakpoint in the test with only 65 points and criticized the fundamentally wrong focus of the title.
Twitter user Pablo Sotto calls the developers again important construction sites to keep in mind when revising Ghost Recon: Breakpoint:
I'm going to tweet here so you didn't forget what you should do with this game:
– Remove Gear Score & Tiered Loot
– Bug fixing and technical improvements
– AI teammates
– Enemy AI improvements
– New story content
– New Weapons / New Customization Character
– New Enemy Types pic.twitter.com/1TLny0gQKa– Pablo Sotto ?? (@JasonVoorheesV) February 24, 2020
Criticism of communication
Many fans complain not only about the shift itself, but also about Ubisoft's late communication. The developers apologized in the blog post for the lack of information about the postponement until recently and explained:
"There are many moving parts in development that made meeting deadlines a challenge, so we couldn't communicate as much as we would have liked."
On March 5, the developers want to share more details about the Immersion Mode for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
