In a new interview with the PlayStation Magazine UK Several new details about the Resident Evil 3 remake have now been released that should not please every fan of the horror classic. As part of design decisions, the developer team of the remake deleted several features of the original.
First of all, the fact that the Mercenaries mode will not return in the remake should be mentioned. The reason for this is that in return the asymmetrical multiplayer mode Resident Evil Resistance will be part of the game, in which four players have to compete against a single opponent.
The Mercenaries mode was more or less a kind of mini-game mode in Resident Evil 3, which later played an increasingly important role in the series, for example in Resident Evil 6, as a player in several levels on the hunt for high scores for the rankings Had to take out opponents. In the third part of the survival horror, however, this was even easier and consisted of only one level with limited character options.
And there is also something going on in the story, because Capcom producer Peter Fabiano explained that the different ends of the campaign have been deleted from the original. It remains to be seen how the Resident Evil 3 remake will end.
Resident Evil 3 Remake will be released on April 3, 2020 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
