Some data from Resident Evil 4 Remake seems to suggest that a Separate Ways DLC may be in the works, and reveals who can play in the upcoming mercenaries mode.
Resident Evil 4 Remake was released last week, and people are already data-mining the game to see what’s coming next.As spotted by Eurogamer and shared on Twitter Biohazard Center, data miner Gosetsu found a folder called “_anotherorder,” along with files related to the recent chainsaw demo and the upcoming mercenary mode. For context, in Japan, the Separate Ways bonus game mode is called Another Order. Here are some minor spoilers for what the mode will focus on.
In Separate Ways, you play as Ada Wong, who does appear in the base g ame, but the bonus mode makes her playable for the first time. This mode fleshes out parts of Ida’s story that we didn’t get to see, and was originally added for the PS2 version of the game. Apparently, this mode wasn’t included in Resident Evil 4 Remake, and it’s unclear if it will ever come, but this stat does seem to suggest it.
The Separate Ways mode isn’t the only thing that’s been unearthed, as it also appears to have uncovered playable characters from Mercenaries mode (again, if you really don’t want to know, spoiler spoilers).
As shared on ResetEra, it looks like Ada Wong, Albert Wesker, Leon, Luis Serra, Jack Krauser, and Hunk are all playable. Luis is a new addition to the mode, launching next week, and it looks like there will be multiple outfits for certain characters as well.
The remake has done well in its own right, as it set a franchise record for concurrent users at launch and is currently one of the best-selling games on Steam in the US.
