The Mercenaries mode is already scheduled for early April and will definitely appear in Resident Evil 4 Remake, but what about the Separate Ways DLC? A find of a dataminer also gives hope for this additional content for the remake!
Will Ada Wong make the leap into Resident Evil 4 remake now that Mercenaries mode has been confirmed for early April? So far, Capcom hasn’t confirmed the DLC “Seperate Ways” for the new edition, but apparently it’s looking quite good – at least if you trust a hint in the game’s files.
A dataminer who is on the move on a Discord server became aware of the reference mentioned; this was then via Twitter-user ResiEvilCentral spread. There is a directory called “anotherorder” in the remake’s game files – and this reference is understood as a clear reference to the earlier RE4 DLC “Seperate Ways”. In this one, you play as Ada Wong and follow her journey, which is set simultaneously with Leon’s.
Why does the phrase “another order” so clearly indicate the additional content? Very simple: The additional mode introduced in “Seperate Ways” is called “The Another Order” in the Japanese version.
A directory called “Chainsaw” was also found next to this file, which points to the free demo for the game – and there is also one called “mercenaries”, i.e. the mode that is already in a free DLC for April 7th, 2023 was officially confirmed.
If the information already stored about “Seperate Ways” follows in the footsteps of the Chainsaw demo and the Mercenaries DLC, then there may be nothing standing in the way of an announcement. Until there is an official confirmation from Capcom, you should simply classify the find of the dataminer as a rumor and treat it with the necessary caution.
