Continuing the ongoing trend of Resident Evil remakes is the remake most of us have – obviously – been waiting for, and that’s Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Released just last week, this beloved cult classic sees rookie cop Leon Kennedy become a full-fledged, grown-up agent navigating endless mayhem. Since then, Capcom revealed that Resident Evil 4 Remake managed to sell more than 3 million units in its first two days.
Let’s also not forget that this remake also set a new concurrent user record for the Resident Evil franchise on Steam. Needless to say, this remake of the 2005 GameCube game was a huge hit with critics and fans, myself included. Go check out my review!
Resident Evil 4 Remake faithfully retells the story of the original game and adds even more depth; be it in the storytelling, environments or key characters. Sure, some of the original’s camp charm is lost, but the pacing and story development of the remake go a long way in making this particular remake feel more in line with the tone of the series as a whole.
Ultimately, Resident Evil 4 Remake is an absolute treat, whether you’re a die-hard Resi veteran or a curious novice to the series.
Capcom’s statement on its sale said, “In addition to receiving high scores on online review sites, the game has received good reviews and attention following the release of the ‘Chainsaw Demo’, in which players can enjoy the game’s opening scene.”
According to Capcom, this resulted in “more than 3 million units sold worldwide in the game’s first two days after launch”.
