In a thread via X respective Twitter emphasized Dusk Golem now that expectations of an announcement of the game this summer can now be safely dashed. According to his latest information, the announcement is now much further away and there is a high probability that a release may not be expected before 2026.
The otherwise reliable insider immediately apologized for his previous incorrect information; that was his fault!
The insider also went on to say more about the franchise and stressed that there was nothing to the recent rumors about remakes of Resident Evil 1 or Resident Evil 5; these are actually not in the works. Instead, there will be two completely different remakes within the horror franchise.
Specifically, remakes of Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil Zero are said to be in the works. Code Veronica was originally released in 2000 for the SEGA Dreamcast and was thus the first game in the franchise to come to a platform other than the PlayStation. Zero was then released in 2002 for Nintendo’s GameCube.
