While we are still waiting for announcement by Netflix after initial rumors about a series about Resident Evil, further alleged details have now surfaced on the net. These originate from the website Redanian Intelligence
The website has now discovered a production list from Netflix and Resident Evil is also mentioned prominently. The series for the survival horror franchise should therefore be shot in South Africa and the corresponding shooting should start soon. Pre-production is scheduled for April, and the actual shooting should begin in June and continue until October. This suggests that broadcasting around the turn of the year 2020/2021 or at the beginning to mid-2021 at the latest can be expected.
Information on the scope of the first season is already known: it should consist of eight episodes, each of which should last 60 minutes. The official confirmation from Netflix is still pending, as is the announcement of the series. Then it will be interesting to see whether the earlier rumors are also true, according to which the series will by no means be based on the published games, but should take up other plot lines. The focus is on the daughters of Albert Wesker named Jade and Billie Wesker.
