The horror franchise has long since caused a sensation not only in the form of video games, but also with numerous cinema films. Now a live-action series will soon follow on Netflix – and there is now a first teaser for it.
Can’t get enough of Resident Evil? Then there is good news: A new series adaptation of the horror material will be released worldwide on Netflix from July 14, 2022. The first season of the series, simply named Resident Evil, will consist of eight episodes.
The course of the series focuses on two time levels: one in the current year 2022 in New Raccoon City in South Africa, a second in the year 2036. The focus is on Jade Wesker, who fights for survival in a world overrun by zombies and is confronted with her past will. Her sister Billie also plays an important role; both are the daughters of Albert Wesker, played by Lance Reddick.
The teaser clip, which you can watch below, gives a good impression of what to expect in the Netflix series starting in July. The zombie horror of the games will be well represented and it gets bloody at times.
The live-action series is being written and produced by Andrew Dabb (“Supernatural”). In addition to Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Paola Nunez also star in key roles.
