announced via twitterCapcom revealed that Resident Evil will offer participants a trial version of the Playstation VR 2 headset.
This particular trial will be open to the public during the Tokyo Game Show, and according to Capcom’s website, only a limited number of participants will be able to spend time with Lady Dimitrescu in PSVR 2, as you might expect. That is, if Ms. D herself even appeared in a particular trial, that trial would become part of the Dimitrescu castle.
That being said, it probably won’t be a PSVR 2 trial if we can’t experience the vampire tower nine feet above us, but only time will tell.
This Resident Evil Village trial will also be the first time the public will be able to play PSVR 2 ahead of its release, a PS5-exclusive headset expected to arrive in early 2023. With that in mind, there’s a chance there will be more PSVR 2 news ahead of TGS, and even more will be revealed in the show itself.
Resident Evil Village has also been confirmed to receive full PSVR2 support, meaning the game is expected to be fully playable on the headset at launch.
Resident Evil Village is already playable in virtual reality thanks to modder Praydog, who created a VR-enabled mod for PC players. So, if you’re not a PS5 owner, or don’t think you’re going to buy a PSVR 2, there are other ways to experience the Resident Evil series in VR. Praydog also created VR mods for Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7. In addition, Resident Evil Resident Evil is also officially supported by PSVR.
That’s not all PlayStation news either, with news earlier today that the price of the PlayStation 5 will go up.
Are you looking forward to finally trying the horror game on PSVR 2, or will you miss it? Be sure to let us know what you think.
