The PC requirements for “Resident Evil Village” have arrived, and they are not your usual spec sheet.
Capcom today announced all the PC specifications required for operation Resident Evil Village On the PC. The welcome change is that the developers actually released performance targets for each set of specifications, but at least in this case, the situation got worse.
Not surprisingly, the PC specs released to Steam earlier also confirmed that ray tracing (a feature announced in the strangest way recently) will run on Nvidia and AMD GPUs. In Village, the extent of ray tracing support has not been properly outlined, so please adjust your expectations now.
It seems that Village will provide the “Prioritise Framerate” option on the PC, which is the minimum specification that Capcom seems to design. There will also be a “preferred visual effect” option, which is more suitable for the recommended specifications. According to Capcom, after selecting the appropriate settings, both devices should provide 1080p video at 60fps.
On the game’s official website, Capcom explained that the recommended specifications can also provide 4K at 60 or 45fps, but only if certain GPUs are present to complicate matters. Everything is unnecessarily puzzling, and some of the details only provide Japanese reference to no avail. Nevertheless, we will try our best to summarize everything neatly.

Resident Evil Village supports 4K GPU
- Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 (4K / 45fps).
- Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070 (4K / 60fps).
- AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (4K / 45fps).
- AMD Radeon RX 6800 (4K / 45fps).
- AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT (4K / 60fps).
Still not clear which GPU you use Actually Requires 4K ray tracing. In one case, Capcom said, RTX 2070 and 6700 XT are not needed for ray tracing at all. In addition, the publisher says they can perform ray tracing at 45fps in 4K.
Village’s ray tracing implementation may be so well optimized that mid-range cards can provide nearly 4K60 transmission capacity on it. It may also be lost in translation. We will update this story when the English blog post appears.
“Resident Evil Village” will be launched on PC, PS4, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on May 7.
