Capcom already said that the coming Resident Evil Village The DLC will be the last story about the Winters family.

Not sure if anyone is particularly passionate about Ethan Winters and his family compared to other classic characters in the Resi series like the lovely Leon, but for those who might be wondering, the upcoming Shadows of Rose DLC Will be the last one all about the Winters family.

Director Kento Kinoshita told IGN Japan at the Tokyo Game Show that Capcom is “creating the story of Shadow of the Rose to end the Winters saga”. So basically, expect some new faces in future entries, or at least see old characters returning to lead roles.

According to IGN, when asked what fans can expect from the future of the series, producer Masachika Kawata simply laughed and said they “absolutely won’t” share any of the studio’s current plans.

At least we do know what to expect in the near future, as Capcom did reveal the upcoming Resi 8 DLC at TGS. In Shadow of the Rose, you play as Ethan’s daughter, Rose, who is looking for a way to heal her powers 16 years after the events of the main game.

The base game is also getting a third-person perspective update, so you can finally see Ethan from a new but still familiar perspective.

While there were no big announcements, Capcom also announced Resident Evil 4 The remake is also coming to PS4, but nothing has been announced for Xbox One owners.

Announced earlier this year, the Resi 4 remake is currently slated for a March 24, 2023 release, and it won’t be too far away. It also apparently supports PSVR2, though the headset itself doesn’t yet have a release date, so who knows if you’ll be able to play it in VR at launch, especially considering PSVR games won’t run on VR2.
