The latest batch Apex Legends Weapon skins have caused some controversy as many players feel that Aiming Sights (ADS) are better than other skins.
As reported by PCGamesN, some pay-to-win allegations have been filed against the developers rebirth Thanks to the introduction of weapon skins such as radiator skins. According to some players, the ADS effect of the fin skin is much better compared to other gun skins. However, Respawn has addressed these criticisms, offering updates to the aforementioned skins and more.
“Competitive integrity is and will always be a core pillar of Apex Legends,” Respawn wrote in a blog post. “As part of this, our default iron sights are designed to push players to loot for better optics. We also don’t think skins should be a factor in sight functionality. In Season 4, we released a heat sink reaction skin for the VK-47 Flatline rifle, and we heard feedback from some players about the Aiming Sight (ADS) feel Better than any other skins available.
“To make things as fair as possible, we want to address feedback on the radiator skin and update other skins we think could be improved.”
Respawn then provided a pair of before and after images showing how the skin originally looked and what it looks like now. The biggest change is that the part with a large hole in the skin has been covered up for better visibility.
Another skin, the Flatline “Revelations” skin, has also been changed, as Respawn felt the flank fins were producing a larger-than-expected sparkle, so it was reduced in size for better visibility.
Players responded positively to the changes on the game’s subreddit, with players noting that it’s still a good looking skin, while others generally don’t fuss with any kind of change.
