Game news Return: The adventure begins in 4K at 60 fps on PlayStation 5
The new exclusivity of Sony Interactive Entertainment Studios will land on PlayStation 5 at the end of April 2021. A few days before the official release, the editors of igamesnews.com were able to view the first cycles of astronaut Selene on the planet Atropos with the controller in hand.
Returnal is a science fiction thriller and 3D shooter that takes the structure of another video game genre, rogue-lite, with what that implies in terms of repeated deaths and the procedural creation of environments between two failures.
In this gameplay excerpt, the heroine crashes on a strange exoplanet and sets off to explore the place, unaware of death and the time trap it falls into. The first steps on Atropos, after spending a few minutes exploring and marveling at extraterrestrial ruins, set the tone right away. Almost everything turns out to be hostile to this unknown star that hides many secrets.
The first minutes of the adventure focus on learning the game mechanics that are central to the experience, from weapons to the healing system to enemies and the adrenaline system, before revealing the concept behind the return cycles (or time loops).
The return will be available on April 30, 2021 exclusively for PlayStation 5
