Any superhero fan who lived through the 90s is almost obligated to watch the Batman and Superman animated series. They are two DC icons that attracted many people during their run, so much so that they are almost a must-see for any new or veteran fan.
Now that Batman animation has resurfaced thanks to Prime Video’s Batman: The Caped Crusader, the creators of Rick y Morty have decided that it is a good time to pay homage to the Batman animated series. And how have they done it? By recreating its intro, one so famous that it is part of Popular Culture.

Adult Swim doesn’t use the classic Rick and Morty art style, but rather one that’s much closer to what we can see in the new anime series. Needless to say, Rick is Batman and Morty is Robin. We also see musical heads as zeppelins, a Meeseeks and Mr. Dirty Asshole as villains, Rick’s ship as the Batmobile, and some references to the series in logos on buildings.
Rick and Morty: The Anime Season 1 is now available Available in Max and we’re still waiting for Season 8 of the original series. It should be here by now, but at the beginning of the year we learned that the writers’ strike that hit Hollywood affected the release schedule, including this one. Now it’s expected in 2025.
