Harmonix announced rock band 4 The DLC will exit phase on January 25th.
After more than eight years of releasing DLC weekly, Harmonix plans to shift its focus to the free-to-play Fortnite Festival, which brings the rhythm action game into the Fortnite ecosystem. Players can take turns selecting songs, and it will support Rock Band 4 instruments – so keep your music peripherals handy.
Live streaming of matches will continue to feature Rivals seasons, online matches and more available services.
“Supporting the Rock Band community has been a career high point,” said Product Manager Daniel Sussman. “We received thousands of song requests and struggled to find and release which songs, which was hard work but also very satisfying.
“We thought long and hard about how to build the final blast of this era’s Rock Band DLC. There will be some tear-jerking stories from the past two weeks that sum up how we feel about this moment.
“We thank you for your commitment and enthusiasm for this wonderful game.”
Rock Band 4 launched in 2015 with 65 songs on disc and over 1,500 songs available as DLC at launch. Nearly all official Rock Band DLC and disc export tracks are compatible with Rock Band 4 from the same console series. Harmonix releases DLC every week, which contains new tunes and songs included in previous games. There are over 3,000 songs available in the game.
The game is the seventh major entry in the Rock Band series and was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
