Rock star writer and co-founder Dan Houser is not on GTA 6-he's leaving

Dan Houser and his brother Sam founded Rockstar Games in 1998. Today, the studio has become a natural force-even if only a few AA releases occur every ten years, this behemoth can maintain its strength.

Now, 22 years after taking the helm, Dan Houser is leaving.

As one of the forces driving creativity, it's interesting to see what Rockstar's next game will look like. Dan Houser is not only a co-founder, but also the lead author of the series' biggest game series: Red Dead Redemption and GTA.

Take-Two revealed Houser's departure in a notice sent to US financial regulators. Sam Houser will continue as president of the company.

Dan Houser will officially leave the company in March of this year.

Take-Two's notice reads: "Dan Houser, Rockstar Games' vice president of creativity, will leave the company after a long break in the spring of 2019."

"Dan House's last day is March 11, 2020. We are very grateful for his contribution. Rockstar Games has built some of the most acclaimed and commercially successful gaming world, a global community of passionate fans and A very talented team, always focused on current and future projects. "

What Houser's departure means for the future of studio games and its culture is unclear, but things will change – to be sure.
